{"id":195,"date":"2014-12-02T16:29:58","date_gmt":"2014-12-02T16:29:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kentoncourtclerk.org\/?p=195"},"modified":"2025-01-23T18:55:09","modified_gmt":"2025-01-23T18:55:09","slug":"paternity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kentoncourtclerk.org\/?p=195","title":{"rendered":"\u2022 PATERNITY PROCEEDINGS"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Paternity cases may be filed in Family Court by the mother, putative father, child, person or agency substantially contributing to the support of the child.<\/li>\n<li>Paternity refers to legal establishment of the father of a child.<\/li>\n<li>There is a <a href=\"https:\/\/kentoncourtclerk.org\/?p=912\">filing fee<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>There is an additional fee for\u00a0service of process depending up the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kentoncourtclerk.org\/?p=1030\">service method <\/a>you choose.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PATERNITY CASES ARE NOT OPEN FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION.<br \/>\nExceptions:<br \/>\na. These individuals may inspect an order or judgment of paternity:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Employees of governmental agencies in the performance of their duties;<\/li>\n<li>All law enforcement agencies including county attorneys, Commonwealth&#8217;s attorneys, District and Circuit Judges;<\/li>\n<li>Anyone with a court order giving access to the order of paternity;<\/li>\n<li>Either party to a paternity action or his\/her attorney of record.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>b. No other information about a paternity case is to be inspected by anyone unless he\/she has a court order giving access to the file.
